Description

The editor selection preference pop-up should go away immediately when the user has made their choice, allowing the selected editor to finish loading. The API call to save the preference should be properly asynchronous.

The delay in switching to wikitext if VE is navigated to was added by Alex in 76a12f2f9b3c0a7a89a3d116cbc9dee7687e587e fairly recently, apparently because T121122 indicated that the preference was failing to be saved sometimes if we didn't wait.
