Kartographer visual editor interface should allow users to view latitude and longitude
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I spoke to an editor today. Their feedback was that there should be at least a way to view the current coordinates for the map in the visual editor dialog - perhaps even providing a way to edit the coordinates direct (as in copy/pasting from another source into the maps editor) or to open the same view in other services (similar to geohack).

Yes, I agree that we need coordinates and zoom level (T129875) for the editor. I actually think there was a number of people asking for it at the maps talk page.

In VE, I think there should be a single input box for "location" that consists of comma separated Zoom, Latitude, Longitude. This value should change as the user zooms and pans the map. Having it as one location would allow editors to quickly copy/paste coordinates.

Viewing map coordinates within VE has been possible since T129875. Resolving this task.
