Description

Sometimes it might be enough to tag a word in a certain way for the pronunciation to be correct, rather than specifying the exact transcription. It might be the case that a word is an acronym (and must be spelled out), or a number is a date or ordinal and not a “normal number”. Handling this is of course language specific but we need a mechanism in Wikipedia which makes it possible to send such annotations to the synthesis engine.

This task was originally created for Wikispeech 2016.
