Remove or move About, Discussion, Help links from media viewer panel

Description

I hate the About | Discussion | Help links
They look like they go to some page related to the image, like the image description and talk page. But instead they go to the Media Viewer pages and that's extremely counter-intuitive.

There is some logic to that. Do we still need these links ? Perhaps we should move them into the Settings panel of MMV ?

The link used to say "About Media Viewer", I'm not sure that did much to prevent the confusion though.

T77760 has some mockups which would IMO make more sense than the current setup (putting about/help in the settings menu is a standard choice, used by e.g. Google, Facebook, Github). Antoher option is T77846#831039.

IMO the discussion link can be dropped; that page is mostly just trolling and misplaced questions about specific images, nowadays. A bug report link pointing to Phabricator would probably make more sense.

I totally agree. I was proposing a more structured footer for articles and that also seems to be more appropriate place for these links. anything else than precious drawer space :)

Nice footer! If there is room to proceed with this, I am happy to start some conversation around it.

Removing @Nirzar as assignee, as that account has been disabled.

Change 692070 had a related patch set uploaded (by Iniquity; author: Iniquity):

[mediawiki/extensions/MultimediaViewer@master] Remove about, biscussion and help links from footer

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/692070

I agree that they are confusing. Left only a link to the main page.

If someone will merge the patch, I will be grateful :)
