Since Opera supports web notifications this would be a nice feature. This is a low priority and isn't important but would be great to have integrated into the extension eventually.

Currently if someone uses Windows 10 with Opera, it'll send web notifications but through Window 10's toastbars. It's unknown yet on whether or not Chat still sends notifications whilst using Opera on a different operating system.
