Historical maps may benefit from showing two map views:

• frame with a draggable splitter
• two synced frames

TBD:

• Decide on wiki markup for two sides - both sides might need to either share the same overlays or different, both sides may wish to show an overlay image or different images.
• Decide on UI - which of the above should be available (or both), allowing more than just two views and switching between them.
