The title says it all: Once we have both expandable bundles and cross-wiki bundles, will we then have nested bundles? Or should bundled notifications inside cross-wiki bundles continue to behave as they do now—e.g., should they continue not to be expandable?

Pau, you may already have an answer in mind for this. If the answer is that bundles inside x-wiki bundles should continue to behave as they do now (non-expanding), then go ahead and say so and we can close this ticket.
If you you think nested bundles are the way to go, then you probably need to do some design explorations to assess the interactions and necessary style changes we'll need to make to account for reduced space.
My own sense is that the added complexity of nested bundles (for both the users and for us) would not be justified by the utility. I think I see x-wiki notifications as a way for users to check in on their other projects, while knowing that in order to follow up on anything they'll need to go to the notifications' home wiki. Looked at in this light, it's reasonable for the x-wiki notifications to provide less fulsome information about the exact nature of what's in the bundle. Is that your perspective?

I added this to the cross-wiki specification to make it more explicit (T114350#2292033).

That summarises it perfectly. Cross-wiki support is aimed at providing a quick overview of what is going on in other places at a glance. For more detailed interactions, user will be able to move to that wiki (T127419) or organise the notifications at the Notification Page (T115316).
