Copy/pasting a link to a page (except user page) on Flow sometimes can't be pasted (invalid/blacklisted HTML?)
Open, LowPublic8 Estimated Story Points

Description

  1. start or reply to a conversation
  2. copy a link from somewhere
  3. paste: impossible to paste it

If you press space before pasting or if you paste is after typing a text, it sometimes works, but you sometimes only have rough text, without links or a blank space inserted. It doesn't happen every time. Copy an username has a different behavior (T135620).

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/289446/ is related as it re-enables the pasting of external links although I'm not sure if that covers what you are talking about here.

On the main bug this was split out from (T135126#2291171) I said that I thought that this could be related to language link syntax. One of the examples that was linked to had someone clearly trying to link to [[:de:Foo]] but ending up with [[de:Foo]]. It was hard to tell though if they made that mistake in wikitext or if VE caused it.

I've tried with:

  1. links already included on some topics (quoting) -> Works
  2. on a Topic, with the link above the title -> Not working
  3. an internal link from the wiki (quoting an article sample)
    1. Just the link -> Works
    2. A sentence with links -> Not working
  4. an external link -> Works
Jdforrester-WMF renamed this task from Copy/pasting a link to a page (except user page) on Flow has an unexpected behavior to Copy/pasting a link to a page (except user page) on Flow sometimes can't be pasted (invalid/blacklisted HTML?).May 24 2016, 7:25 PM
Jdforrester-WMF set the point value for this task to 8.
Jdforrester-WMF moved this task from To Triage to TR0: Interrupt on the VisualEditor board.

Can you retest as I suspect this is not fixed.

Nothing changed.

This turned out to be a Parsoid bug: T136653: Parsoid doesn't recognize interwiki shortcuts in the href attribute.
