It would be neat to have in Special:CentralAuth a count of the number of created articles per wiki.

What is the real need of this? Also, please note that not all wikis calls pages in the main namespace as articles. For example, Commons calls pages in their main namespace as galleries.
There is no need, it's more of a 'that'd be neat' thing. Having CentralAuth as a main page for checking how much the user has contributed to Wikimedia projects. Not just with edit count, but also file uploads (T136534) and article count.
I'd say this isn't really beneficial - the editcount says enough about the involvement in most cases, and adding extra data might make it less clear.
It might be a good optional addition to the existing labs tool; https://tools.wmflabs.org/quentinv57-tools/tools/sulinfo.php
I've announced this task on the IRC channel Freenode wikimedia-stewards for feedback.
The neatness could also rely on the few amount of available information, ie less columns avoid to flood the user with too many information.
A limited case has been considered: that could help to rename accounts.
