Hide username from a Flow board when that username has been masked on the history page
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

The current History system allows hiding usernames if offensive or inappropriate (if you have the right to). That will remove the username from the History page, and you can remove it by hand from the wikipage to make it disappear for good. On Flow, that name will remain visible on the Flow board, unless if you ask for an account renaming.

From that feedback list.

I don't think so. At an ordinary page, I can go to any revision, click change visibility and hide just the username, just the content, just the summary or any combination of those. I can also choose (if I'm an oversighter) if I want to "just" hide or oversight the particular data.

In flow, there's just a "Hide" option. I've used it at this thread. It looks that the IP addres I used to post the last post isn't publicly visible, but if I press View history, I'll see it was 94.143.232.92. It isn't possible to hide an username from a post. Even if I fully delete the post, the IP will be visible in the history.

This is a valid issue, and is one of many issues having do with moderation in Structured Discussions. Because the WMF is currently working with communities on the Talk Pages Consultation, the Growth team isn't going to work on addressing these moderation issues one at a time -- because the consultation may point toward a different set of features for communication.
