Based on local groups meetup in Esino Lario, local groups members from all over the world (Italy, France, Japan, Czech Republic) decided to request a mailing list to be able to keep the discussion alive and share good tips and questions. That mailing list would be open and public.

Hi @Trizek-WMF, to create mailing lists the following information is required:
- Requested name
- Reasoning/purpose (I guess this is done, though I don't know what the standard is)
- Initial list admin address
- Secondary list admin address
Please see https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Mailing_lists#Create_a_new_list
Hello @Krenair,
Thanks for your answer. Here's the expected information :
- Requested name : localgroups
- Reasoning/purpose : coordinating the local wiki-groups at worldwide scale, sharing best practices, projects and ideas
- Initial list admin address : lea.lacroix@gmail.com

Thank you for providing all the required information, @Trizek.
I'll create the list tomorrow morning; please stay tuned.
The list has now been created, and I configured it to have public archives, with everyone being able to subscribe to it freely.
You can configure the rest of the settings, including list description and a terse identifying phrase at the following web page:
https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/admin/localgroups
The web page for users of your mailing list is:
https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/localgroups
The list will also be available in the e-mail to news gateway Gmane.org as
gmane.org.wikimedia.localgroups
Please list and describe your mailing list at the appropriate section of the mailing list overview page on Meta.
I just sent the admin password to the two e-mail addresses given above, and made them list administrators.
This request is now closed; enjoy your new mailing list!
