Thanks for bringing this up @Danny_B! Please feel free to be bold and take a stab at adding a definition yourself. Given other TPG priorities at the moment, it might be a while before someone from the team picks this up.

If I felt capable enough, I'd have that done already (it's a wiki, you know? ;-)) and wouldn't report it... I just wanted to ensure, that it won't get forgotten...

We (TPG) are hoping that our new hire might be willing to take this on in September. If not, and if none of the rest of us feel motivated to do it, we'll probably remove Team-Practices to keep our backlog lean.

If I were writing it, I would emphasize that "feature" is an ambiguous and overloaded term, that does not have a single meaning. To some, it means new functionality, while to others it only a new large chunk of functionality, and to others it means any non-defect improvement.

@NHarateh_WMF We were wondering if you wanted to take this on! We can discuss this week at one of our one on one sessions :-)

For the records, https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Team_Practices_Group/Glossary#Feature now lists

A slice of functionality. It can be split into a collection of smaller user stories that implemented together will deliver the value of a feature.
