svn.wikimedia.org redirects to Diffusion main page, hence hard to find e.g. "flexbisonparse"
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Alternative_parsers links to http://svn.wikimedia.org/viewvc/mediawiki/trunk/parsers/graveyard/flexbisonparse/

which goes to Diffusion main page , and "flexbisonparse" doesnt appear to be findable from there or from the global search in Phabricator.

It is at https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/diffusion/SVN/browse/trunk/parsers/graveyard/flexbisonparse/

There is a git copy at https://github.com/crosslink/FlexBisonParse

Event Timeline

I already said that in the original comment.

It will need to be migrated to a git repo.

Why? There are many many little tools in the old SVN repo which havent been migrated, and are unlikely to be migrated. Who is going to do it? Why not add a proper redirect from svn.wm.org to phabricator.wikimedia.org , or return 404s instead of misusing HTTP 301

Well you can request it here https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Git/New_repositories/Requests asking to import https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/diffusion/SVN/browse/trunk/parsers/graveyard/flexbisonparse/

please.

Or you can ask for it to be imported into a diffusion repo instead of it being a gerrit repo.

That only solves the problem for this one tool ( flexbisonparse ) . The problem exists for all of the other old tools in that SVN repo, most of which are useless now. Doing them all one by one isnt sensible. Fixing the redirects is one change which fixes them all at once.

Aklapper renamed this task from flexbisonparse to svn.wikimedia.org redirects to Diffusion main page, hence hard to find e.g. "flexbisonparse".Oct 25 2016, 2:17 PM
