Parsoid failed to generate simplified wikilink syntax in an edit
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

In this edit the link [[World Heritage Site|World Heritage Site]] was added. The exact same text before and after the pipe is pointless.

The unnecessary text was auto-removed by English Wikipedia's helpful User:Yobot, but it shouldn't be added in the first place—Parsoid or VE should just put that text in once. (Probably Parsoid, but I might be wrong.)

Parsoid does this normally. This was probably some edge case that prevented it. In any case, there is a bunch of link serialization code improvements going on. Hopefully some of these edge cases will get addressed as part of it.
