Description

I feel confident over the time I've seen him contribute that he is able to reason through tricky code, make good contributions, is polite, and knows when to defer to consult for help. Not having +2 at this point just seems like an obstacle.

Although I am not a mediawiki +2 owner, I'd like to echo @aaron's words. I've worked with @Glaisher both on-wiki and on gerrit/Phabricator and I've always found his contributions very useful and his approach appropriate ,and of a hard-working attitude. I think giving him the ability to merge changes will be a benefit for all. Thanks.

Yes! Glaisher is awesome <3

He's already a maintainer of GlobalBlocking, Translate, and TranslationNotifications. I think @siebrand or @Nikerabbit can speak to the quality of his contributions there as well.

Done! Congrats Glaisher!

I'd suggest leaving a note in mailing list(s) about this kind of task *before* closing in order to have more feedbacks. If aware, I would had strongly supported Glaisher for +2 ofc.

Believe me Glaisher is good. I like his contributions. Congratulations @Glaisher.

True. I am just seeing it now. I suggest it should be reopened for people to give feedback. Thanks

Not worth reopening for Glaisher, but this should be, IMHO, a best practice for the future.

@Vituzzu & @D3r1ck01 Could you please open a new task for your discussion about the process of giving +2 rights to contributors (or move the discussion to mediawiki.org)? (You probably could link it here, but please don't discuss this topic (which is kind of unrelated to this task) in this task :)

Btw.: Congrats @Glaisher, you earned it! :)

I'd like to join in the congratulating of @Glaisher.

discussion about the process of giving +2 rights to contributors

For the records, https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Gerrit/%2B2#Granting says that https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Gerrit/Project_ownership describes [...] how to request +2 access on a project.
