Example:

This is an album and the image displayed is that of a president.

The first image is Non-Free and there is also a size criteria as well (but i don't know what it is)

I understand that much. But it is generally a bad idea to automate image selection like this. As you can see the image is not representative of the topic, and I expect this happens more often. Better not to do it then to make mistakes like this that cannot be fixed.

Please make it so we can select the image on page information,

There will never be perfect representative images for all topics.
Everybody is welcome to contribute better images, and I think that is the way to go instead.
Hence I'm proposing to decline this task.

or remove the option for the moment.

I do not think that a small number of sub-optimal images justifies removing the option entirely for all cases.

The page image is chosen by https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:PageImages#Image_choice (section just added by me with limited knowledge). There are some replies at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Help_desk#Changing_a_page_image (will later be archived here).

I don't think the feature should be removed due to some unfortunate image choices, but I suppose the extension could allow a new magic word like {{PAGEIMAGE:}} to override the automatic selection. It could check the image is actually on the page and isn't found unacceptable for some reason. I don't know how many editors would use such a feature.
