Niedzielski claimed this task.

@Tacsipacsi, thank you for reporting! I believe this is fixed by T144109 although it's not deployed to the servers yet (/cc @bearND).

Thanks, when can I expect deploy? (Is it deploy to WMF servers or app stores? If latter, can I obtain a nightly build of the app somewhere?)

I believe this should only require a service side deployment (no app update needed). @bearND, any idea when this the picture of the day description localization change will deploy?

The first patch to improve this was deployed on Wednesday, hence the resolved task. This one basically takes the description from the template page instead of the imageinfo API. @Niedzielski 's follow-up patch https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/322049/, which treats translated descriptions coming from the template page and the imageinfo API similarly, has not been merged yet. Since there won't be any deploys allowed next week, this would most likely happen on Nov 28, assuming the 2nd patch has been merged by then.

Thank you. I hadn't checked it before as you'd written it will be deployed in the future. Now I opened the app and looks perfect in the last two days (it's not translated before yesterday, the deploy—is it a cache problem?).

Older day's main content doesn't get automatically changed. @Pchelolo could force an update on them, but I would advise to wait until the follow-up Mobile-Content-Service patches are merged and deployed.
