Just confirming ~1.5-2 years down the line this is still used in Wikibase by at least jquery.wikibase.wbtooltip
Note we have removed the skinStyles for tipsy from the new Vector 2022 experience. This may lead to issues in your extension. Please take this opportunity to consider prioritizing this work and re-testing the feature in the new Vector skin e.g wikidata.org?useskin=vector-2022
Hey I'm looking to remove this code sometime soon and Wikibase Is likely going to be the last remaining usage in production. If this is troublesome, could you add least keep a clone version of the module in WIkibase e.g. a wikibase.jquery.tipsy ResourceLoader module?
I'll look into this sometime this week. I'm still trying to track which part of the client UI this actually affects.
@Jdlrobson I see that you already made a local clone of this in T117720, thank you! It is literally used in almost every tooltip on Wikidata. Of course removing this completely is a far larger task, that should be carefully considered by the responsible teams. Tagging @WMDE-leszek as this is a likely part of any work on Item UI.
