Both chrome and firefox in android render wikipedia inline math (both png and svg) in its own line, rendering it very hard to read, v.g.

This doesn't happen in desktop mode.
If that's a feature for small devices or something, be aware that it's awful for tablets.
Is there a custom css workaround?

IIRC this was fixed some time ago, e.g. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black-body_radiation, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_relativity, and https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Length_contraction all render fine. If you've got an example page or pages, then please do reopen this task and add them to the description.
