The idea is to have consistency: when you preview with wikitext, you can do that, not with VE where you have to click on the link to open the inspector and then do a ctrl+click.
Link inspector is sometimes not enough to know if the targeted page is the right one: Wikidata description does not exists or is not descriptive enough, or you just want to open that link in a new tab in order to keep it for later.
Ctrl+Click does open in a new tab/window for me, but also moves the cursor inside the editor (and so opens the link editor).
What am I missing?
While editing, a ctrl+clic on a link doesn't open the link on a new tab.
Expectation is to have that crtl+clic to open the page in a new tab.
