Clicking between a bullet circle and the associated text doesn't move the cursor
Open, LowPublic

Description

If you have a bulleted list, and want to move the cursor to the start of a line of bulleted text, you CAN click to the left of the bullet symbol. Or you can click on the left half(ish) of the first letter of the text. But you CANNOT click anywhere between the bullet and the first letter. If you do, the cursor doesn't move.

This often causes me to enter text in the wrong place, because I quickly click and start typing, only to realize that my click had no effect. Clicks to the right of the bullet should be treated like clicks to the left of the bullet.

I doubt this is browser-specific, but in case it is, I'm using Firefox 48.0 on Ubuntu 16.04.1.

I cannot replicate. In Chrome it works as you say you'd expect; in Firefox, clicking there selects the line. Either way, I think this is a browser choice and not something over which we have much control. Happy to file this upstream with Firefox if we can work together to form a simple example test case.

I can reproduce this in Firefox 48.0.1 on Mac OS 10.10.5 (14F1912). I cannot reproduce this in Safari 9.1.3 (10601.7.8) on the same Mac.

@Jdforrester-WMF : What version of Firefox and what OS were you testing on?

Here's a screen capture in Firefox 48:

I can reproduce this on Firefox 70.0b5 on macOS 10.14.6 (but not on Chrome 77.0.3865.75). I imagine the priority is pretty low, though 🙂
