Reconsider hiding slugs between two content (text) nodes
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

[While using VE, when a template displayed on the entire width is followed by a title, it is not possible to add a paragraph between those two items]

This is problematic when that template asks people to add information below that template. That's the case for the "expand section" template on fr.wp, displayed on the entire with of the article.

A video (in French) has been made by @Drongou to explain that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEsXCGCpPuY

We did this because people complained about all the slugs getting in their way, and we agreed that people could "easily" press return and write there. Now this task says the opposite. I'm not sure what a good compromise would be. :-(

Maybe have a test and compare which solution is the best?

@Jdforrester-WMF I don't understand what is the problem with displaying slugs.

Is it a problem because we don't see the same while editing than while reading? This could be solved by using display:none instead of visibility:hidden for slugs.

Slugs are ugly, but very ergonomic!

Given T146128#2653567 this task should either be open, or it should be declined. ("stalled" status is not meant for "Let's avoid making decisions.")
