Support OpenHatch
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

https://openhatch.org drives prospective developers to OSS.

They have an old importer using BMO, use for MediaWiki and Pywikibot, and maybe others.

I have created a ticket for Phabricator support: https://github.com/openhatch/oh-bugimporters/issues/123

Thanks! Setting status to stalled as this seems to first require an upstream backend.

(Note to myself: Developer-Relations / Engineering Community Team was in contact with Asheesh (of OpenHatch) a while ago.)

For what is worth, from time to time I receive an email notification from OpenHatch about a developer interested in MediaWiki...

Other than the oh-importer needing to be extended to support Phabricator (an upstream task), what else needs to happen on our side? I believe I remember it looking for the good first bug tag in BZ, so I presume that support would be included in the general Phab support. What else?

At this point, I would either push this proposal to Developer-Wishlist (2017) to check what is the interest or decline the task.

@srishakatux, I recommend you to subscribe to MediaWiki updates in OpenHatch in order to receive notifications like this one (from two days ago):

Hello Quim,
I'm a robot from OpenHatch, the open source involvement engine, sending you an email about what's been going on lately in the projects on your profile. Some of our users have asked for a periodic update email with updates on their projects' presence on OpenHatch. I hope you find this useful, and I won't send you more than one email per week. I'm boldly declining this task as we cannot do much as long as https://github.com/openhatch/oh-bugimporters/issues/123 isn't tackled, if I get it right.
