Description

Not sure what might be the cause but I did not added that nonsense at the end of the message. I have another instance at here.

In Flow, using wikitext markup, this does not appear to happen.

Looks like a VisualEditor bug to me, untagging Flow.

Flow talks to Parsoid directly and doesn't use selective serialization. So, this very strongly suggests that the problem is VE-side in the HTML it provides Parsoid, and not with Parsoid itself.

Jdforrester-WMF moved this task from To Triage to TR0: Interrupt on the VisualEditor board.

Without reproduction steps it's hard to work out what's going on…

I don't have reproduction steps, but I can tell you what's going on, CE is getting desynchronized from DM and then typing and deleting text types it and deletes in different places than it looks like it does. That used to be somewhat common with VE a year or two ago, but I haven't seen it recently. @MarcoAurelio What browser and what operating system are you using?

@Jdforrester-WMF I'm not sure what reproduction steps are required here. I just either created a Flow topic or replied to an existing one and the results are in the diffs I provided in the summary of the task.

@matmarex I'm not confortable with that being public, would you mind if I send you those details via Phabricator conpherence or other private means?

@MarcoAurelio I'm unlikely to be able to fix the issue, even if I can reproduce it. Better try someone from the VE team.

Although it'll probably be inconvenient to keep this secret if you tell anyone… it'd be silly to describe the fix as "do a thing so that Marco's secret browser works" ;) and even if it was done, it would likely be easy enough to guess what the browser is.

@matmarex Ah, ok.
