  • Enable the backend for cross-project indices on all Wikimedia projects
    • Switch search backend to cross-project indices
    • Generate and agree upon rollout plan for enabling the cross-project search feature

This task is for my portion of the above, working with communities on a rollout plan.

We've put together a draft request to community Village Pumps regarding SERP A/B test participation.

This will go out to Polish, Italian, Catalan Wikipedias to ask for their participation. A community member from the Persian Wikipedia has expressed some interest. This would be helpful to have a RTL language included in testing.

The community responses have been encouraging.

I consider this resolved for Q2 and will create new tasks as needed for my Q3 support work. There might not be much for me to do regarding this as Q3 is mostly building the A/B tests and deploying them.
