Add Pagination for Listing images in Commons
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

I am exploring the images of a user in commons.

He uploaded 7,536 images of plants.

It will be good, if we have a pagination on the bottom like in the google search results page.

Currently, it has only previous page, next page links. It is painful to look for any particular image with this setup.
When I am looking for the images that start with "P", I have to keep on click the "next page" link, which is too tough.

How can we add the pagination with page numbers here?

Thanks.

@Tshrinivasan I have added a {{CatAZ}} as a stop-gap measure − should make it somehow better :) Hope that helps!

This works fine.

But, this should be a default one for the lengthy lists like this.

Most newbies dont know such {{CatAZ}} category exists.

It can be hard to predict if the alpabetical list is appropriate e.g. a category with 100,000 entries but all starting with same the letter. Also categories where contents is non-latin alphabet.

I guess we could have it show up on cayegories bigger than a certain size and also have a magic word to disable.
