Using accentuated characters in title causes {{translation}} tag not to work
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Hi,

I am making a MediaWiki in French, therefore there are most of the times accentuated characters, like "Hérisson".

When I use some of those words in the title, I can't use {{translation}} magic word, which I need to add to the categories, like @Nikerabbit told me here: https://www.mediawiki.org/w/index.php?title=Topic:Tamgbp7nqf51h5r5&topic_showPostId=taoc7rg60xy6q002&fromnotif=1#flow-post-taoc7rg60xy6q002

EDIT : The behaviour I get is "Hérisson/Hérisson" instead of "Hérisson/en"

If I have a name without accentuation, it works.
Is it a problem in my configuration or is it a problem in Translate extension ?

Thanks in advance !

You did it well, and I was doing it wrong : after trying {{#translation}} as you told me, after trying {{translation}} (which leads to the behaviour I get), trying {{#translation:}} with the semicolon works well.

Thanks a lot, I thought I became mad :)
