Thanks @Nemo_bis for noting. This task is a bit stale. I don't recall the context.
It's a fine idea to let users know if their network connectivity is down, for example while on a mobile device, that the link isn't going to work, instead of having the user find that out the painful way and possibly have the current article expire out of their browser cache.
@ovasileva should we decline this or backlog it with low priority?
