We are asking for Autopatrolled user group to be enabled in etwiki. The group should contain just one user right, autopatrol. Members of Administrators user group should have the right to add users to the Autopatrolled group and to remove them from the group.
The change was discussed in etwiki (https://et.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vikipeedia:%C3%9Cldine_arutelu#Uus_arutelu) and there is consensus for creating the group, with three users supporting and one user against the change.

Would it be possible to create additional protection level based on the group? (I know it is technically possible, I'm asking the question w/ regard to the policy and server administration practices.)
Yes, it is possible. Give community comsensus, create new request and we'll do that. It was requested previously by other projects :).
