We need to talk about this with CLs. @Elitre: @Jdforrester-WMF thinks we should not do multitab because VE is slowly moving towards one tab, but the community thinks we should do because they think VE is great for newbies. What should we do with the community?

I'll take a look at this when I can.

(looks like I duplicated my comment here.)

Jdforrester-WMF removed a project: Patch-For-Review.
Jdforrester-WMF moved this task from To deploy to External on the Wikimedia-Site-requests board.
Jdforrester-WMF set the point value for this task to 1.

Just a note that I haven't forgotten about this but I'm verifying some technical details before I provide further explanation and advice.

Hey @Elitre, Ten months have passed, any news?

Hi, thanks for your note. I dug a bit to find out that what we meant to investigate in the first place was that SET was working properly at fa.wiki.

When SET is configured the way it's meant to be, it does expose the visual editor more to logged out and newly registered editors, which is what that wiki seems to want, but it also provides choice for a different setup for the latter and for the "old" editors: the first time you launched an editing window, with a popup that allowed you to decide how many tabs you want, and then permanently, via the preferences.

I had filed T155019 about that, and if you want to help investigate there, that'd be great.
