Release Codesniffer v0.8.0
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

After https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/330785/ is merged, we should release v0.8.0 stable as it has been 3+ months since the first alpha.

Event Timeline

Not that it's related, but in testing the upgrade to 2.7.1 I came across T154731, which should probably be merged before a new release (if it's valid).

yes, thanks, we should merge your change + the phpcs upgrade at the same time. Thanks for testing it.

Are there any other blockers to a new release?

Might as well update to 2.8.0. Done in https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/336935/

Core will need validating against it and 0.8.0 to check nothing needs changing

But core doesn't have to update to 0.8.0 immediately does it? It will stay on 0.7.2 until all sniffs pass.

What else is blocking a new release?

(Sorry, meant to add: it's Documentation Day! later this week, and it might be cool to have a more-thorough CS out by then.)

Yes, it would be awesome to have this ready before May 12th (MediaWiki Documentation Day). Who can actually accomplish this?

Change 351528 had a related patch set uploaded (by Legoktm; owner: Legoktm):

Sorry about the delay :( I'm hoping to get back to a more regular schedule over the summer.
