Resizing browser window causes thumbnail displaying incorrectly

Description

Usually, when user opens an image with transparent background in media viewer (example), it displays grey and white squares instead of transparent background:

But if browser window is resized when viewing the image, at some point checker background is not displayed:

The image is displayed over the black background, which makes it hard to read.

I will fix it. That should be easy.
