Audio files should be playable directly from the article instead of the file page
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

Audio content should be playable inline where it appears within an article

Example:

  1. Go to The Beatles English Wikipedia article
  2. Tap on the Norwegian Wood sample

It would be ideal if the audio played on the first tap instead of requiring the file page to load and a second tap be made

This seems to be a Parsoid / MCS issue. When I inspect the page in mobile web, I see an HTML <audio> tag that represents the sound clip. However when I inspect the page as rendered in the app, I no longer see an <audio> tag. Somewhere along the way it's getting stripped.

Note also that switching to MediaWiki fetching (instead of Restbase) makes the sound clips work inline as expected.
