Since the new MW update, some bock duration for IPs are arbitrary
Closed, DuplicatePublic

I made this test filter (currently disabled) which would block a particular user or IP. Then I made test edits using that user and that IP, thereby triggering the filter twice.

For the user, the block duration is "indefinite" which makes sense (until we solve T32024).

For the IP, though, the block duration was "4 decades, 7 years, 35 days, 11 hours, 37 minutes and 47 seconds" which seems arbitrary.

I reckon that block expiry is not the first time I see it and might be the new MediaWiki release that has caused it. @Luke081515 or @Steinsplitter mentioned this to me, but I can't remember who exactly. Ping both then.
