Log In Help page goes to Mediawiki page even if local wiki has one configured
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

By default the login page for the MediaWiki links to https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Logging_in for the Help Logging in link. This a is good default for most wikis however for some private wikis this link may not make sense. If the local wiki creates a page called Help:Logging_in it would be nice if the wiki would automatically send the user to that page instead of to the MediaWiki page.

Wikis can define the target of help links by creating a page in the mediawiki namespace with the title "lowercase special page name + '-helppage'." - eg a page at MediaWiki:Block-helppage would override the default link

Hello Danny, thank you for the comment. We tried this out and it didn't seem to work. After some more looking we found that we we could make a page at:
MediaWiki:Helplogin-url
Which can contain a link to the login page we want it to redirect to. We found this variable name out by going to source code and looking up the place where it generates the link and reads it from the en.json file. Feels a bit hacky, but it does get us to the desired solution.
