The image below includes copyrighted elements (text and images) from another app. While I see why this is included, that app's material is under copyright. We may be able to claim fair use, but I doubt it would fall within the scope of which the WMF board has allowed fair use to be used/claimed.

Posting images of other apps in screenshots is not incorporating non-free images into our products...
It is not incorporating it to our product, but we are incorporating it in to our 'advertisement'/marketing material, which is still a product by the WMF.
Updated the images in the screenshots with either Public Domain or CCO images and added a space at the bottom of the image for displaying the license type / attribution (when applicable). Updated the side by side with a mock of a trending notification.

I'd suggest you refrain from making assertions about legal issues and board intentions. Although I thoroughly disagree with your interpretation of the situation we have other features we can show and since this obviously bothers you so much we've removed it.
