Steps to repro:

Refresh the Explore feed
Tap today's Picture of the Day
Gallery view loads, but the spinner never stops and the image doesn't load. (the caption, info link and other elements do load and work as expected)

Device:
iPhone 6S
iOS 10.2.1
WiFi

Testing on iPhone 6S (iOS 10.2.1) and Wikipedia 5.4.0 (1081). This is still not fixed yet as of this latest build.

I don't think it was fixed in 1081 but it should be in 1082. I just tried it.

Testing on iPhone 6S (iOS 10.2.1) and Wikipedia 5.4.0 (1083). This is fixed now as the image loaded when I tapped to gallery view:
