While editing Président (homonymie) on fr wiki, the Visual diff was strange, it showed content removal.
I thought it was a bug, but the actual result was what the Visual diff showed.
Here's a screenshot with the difference between what is being shown while editing (top of the screen) and the Visual diff:
I can't unfortunately reproduce this bug, but I thought I'd report it in case it would provide insight.
Do you mean that the surface showed the content when you were editing, but wikitext diff showed it was gone (and the save agreed)?
Did you touch that line? There's no edit conflict (previous edit was in August), but did you switch between editors somehow?
Yes, exactly, and what I called "Visual diff" is the wikitext diff shown by the VisualEditor.
Yes, I made it look like what we see above the diff. No, I didn't switch between editors.
I used copy/paste for the text that disappeared (like "président du conseil d'administration"), so it may have been caused by T154123.

Tried T173077#3526570 but it didn't work, and I didn't click twice on either hyperlink nor cite button. So it doesn't seem to be linked to T173077.
This time too, I used copy/paste for the text (and ref) that was lost.
