[BUG] No wikidata description text is being shown for disambiguation articles in 'Similar pages' list
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open an article which would have a disambiguation article in its 'Similar pages' section – eg. Orange (fruit) article
  2. Tap on the article overflow menu and choose to view 'Similar pages'

Expected

The Orange disambiguation article should be shown in the list of similar pages with Orange as the list item title, and "Wikipedia disambiguation page" as the subtitle (ie., the wikidata description text area).
The expected presentation as when the article is shown in search results or when saved to a reading list:

Article bug - Similar pages 01b - screenshot showing correct disambiguation.png (1×1 px, 292 KB)

Actual

Article is shown in the list only with the title "Orange (disambiguation)"

Article bug - Similar pages 01a - disambiguation not appearing as subheading.png (1×1 px, 933 KB)

Note: It looks like this is because the "similar pages" list isn't resolving redirects. The page [[Orange (disambiguation)]] is actually a redirect to [[Orange]], but Similar Pages doesn't resolve it.

We are no longer showing Disambiguation items natively.
