Timeless only displays your username on all pages if it's "short enough" – currently, if it's less than 12 characters long.

I think keeping the username always visible (maybe clipped with text-ellipsis or something) would be very useful for people with multiple accounts, both for fun sockpuppeting and for "(WMF)" accounts etc. It would probably require some major changes in the HTML structure to allow it, though.
