Please add @jrobell and @spatton to WMF-NDA (access to private Phabricator tasks)
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

@jrobell and @spatton are WMF employees in fundraising. They need access to tasks set visible to WMF-NDA.

@Aklapper has helped us in the past but he mentioned other admins could do this. We could use prompt help. Fundraising is trying to discuss a legal/analytics project and they cannot access the relevant tasks.

Thanks @DStrine
Hi @Aklapper
As David mentioned, it would be great for myself, spatton and pcoombe to get access to WMF NDA tasks. However, more importantly, we are trying to find a way to discuss the project laid out in this specific private task with our our analytics consultants, CPS. They have access to LDAP group. Could we open up this task to people with LDAP group access? Thanks!

They have access to LDAP group. Could we open up this task to people with LDAP group access?

Technically speaking, making people who have access to some LDAP group also automatically have access to some in Phabricator is not yet possible.

Regarding verification of accounts: If 1) the on-wiki SUL account was created by the WMF Office IT team ("This account must be created by the Office IT team") and if 2) the account is attached to the Phab account ("Make sure you use your WMF staff wiki account for creating your Phabricator account") it is easy.
Unfortunately here 1) is not the case (maybe those rules got introduced after accounts were created).

Regarding access, the usual chain to check:

As I have no way to verify, I would fall back to and follow "Get sign off by a C-level staff of the Wikimedia Foundation.", by asking for a comment in this task from a WMF C-level staff who takes responsibility that the Phab user account @spatton who will get access to WMF-NDA access is actually the person we'd all assume.
Sorry to be a PITA but I won't jeopardize access restrictions...

https://office.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:SPatton_(WMF) looks pretty legit to me. If that's not sufficient (a year later, hrm), who should we get to sign off on this?

AFAIK officewiki accounts are separate and not connected in any way to mw/meta SUL/OAuth. My problem is really the "technical verification" here.

If that's not sufficient (a year later, hrm), who should we get to sign off on this?

Whoever in C-level is responsible. See my last comment. :)

Thanks for reviving this, @ArielGlenn! Not a PITA @Aklapper, I appreciate the protocols.

I'll ask my C-level (Lisa) to approve on this thread.

This has not seen a reply for more than three months hence proposing to unfortunately decline this task.
