We'd like to have it in a week so we can try a jumbo start for the organizer. I'm not sure how the infrastructure in Lab project but we will need to configure a working SMTP service and OAuth/SSO login.

I am opposed to spaces and capitals in a project name in openstack :) but discourse-for-wiki-asian-month seems more than fine to create. +1

@fantasticfears We're happy to create this project. One question, would you like the project name to be as long as discourse-for-wiki-asian-month, or would you prefer something shorter? You can look at our current list of project names here https://tools.wmflabs.org/openstack-browser/ :)

Sure, I am perfectly fine with discourse-for-wiki-asian-month.

@AddisWang suggests to me that the project name may have a long url as a result. I would think it will be perfectly fine if we can assign the domain to the instance, e.g. community.asianmonth.wiki.

The project name won't affect the HTTP hostname, as it can be specified quite freely regardless of the project name. What will be affected the most is the internal DNS records to your instances, which will be used in eg. SSH connections.

It makes a lot of sense to keep names abbreviated and concise and avoid alphanumeric complexity as much as possible. If I'm creating this for myself I would go for discourse-wam and there will be a project page to expand and explain what the project is for. This will indeed be part of the FQDN for hosts and have to fit in a number of places and dialogue boxes easily.

It makes much more sense to me now. A short name discourse-wam would make it easier for future configuration. I edited the project name for clarity. Thank you for the advice.

Apologies, there was a bug in the project creation code. I've deleted and recreated the project, it should be working properly now. Please let me know if not!

That helps, thanks :) I would like to ask help for the mail of the infrastructure. As of Discourse, it will need SMTP server for outgoing emails (with verp support) and a POP3 account for incoming emails.

Is it a good idea to go with a external mail service provider or configure the mysterious here? For WAM, we may go for the email address in our domain or wikimedia domain if applicable.
