Why not also notifying when a page has been disconnected from an item? It could be a form of vandalism, so the creator of the page should know about it.

It looks like a great idea but I have one concern first:
- There are lots of vandalisms in Wikidata which happen by removing a sitelink (I sent an email to the mailing list earlier) so this is a good idea but most of them get reverted instantly in that case we are sending not just one but two notifications of disconnecting and re-connecting to the creator. This will most importantly it makes the user to not care about the notification the next time and that's really bad.

Another question I have: does this only concerns the creator of the page, or also people who follow the page? Could we imagine in the future that this notification appears for them?

This idea looks like what is expected from the Page Liked option in Notifications: have a way to add or remove some pages you want to watch, to know if a link has been created on another article to an article you have created.

I'm also not sure what's meant with "creator of the page". There's a person who created the item. There's a person who created the article and then there's a person who added the link from the item to the article.
Notifying the person who created the item doesn't seem right, given that they might not speak the relevant language.

Based on the discussion on https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Project_chat#New_notification_when_a_page_is_connected_to_Wikidata I would say the creator of the article as the request is a response to the message that the creator of an article gets notified of the connection.
