Upload wizard adds coordinates in opposite order
Closed, DeclinedPublic

Description

We received the complaints from uploaders who noticed that the latitude and longitude are added to the file pages during uploading in switched order. So the latitudes are placed in the coordinates template on the place of the longitude parameter and the longitudes are placed in the coordinates template on the place of the latitude parameter.

I got notified by this here:

This seems very unlikely (someone would have probably noticed earlier over the years). I can't reproduce the problem locally – "Latitude" (the first field in UW interface) goes into the first parameter of {{Location}}, "Longitude" goes into the second, as they should. Are there more examples of problematic uploads, especially by other people?

Are we sure it's not a user error? Or maybe incorrect data inserted by the camera and imported by UW from the photo? Or a bad translation where someone switched up the two words in the UW interface in some language?

Unfortunately closing this Phabricator task as no further information has been provided.

@Romaine: After you have provided the information asked for and if this still happens, please set the status of this task back to "Open" via the Add Action...Change Status dropdown. Thanks!
