Search icon of Wikipedia homepage looks a little odd

Description

The search icon found in the homepage of wikipedia looks a little odd. The icon, especially the tail portion of it, seems to be of low quality (at least in my browser). I guess it should be modified.

Environment details
Browser : Firefox Nightly (55.0a1)
Screen resolution (device) : 1366 * 768 (16 : 9)
Screen resolution (window) (approx.) : 1310 * 650

Just in case,
Operating system : Debian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch)

@Kaartic Weird, is it a high resolution (HiDPI) screen?
But even then it shouldn't result in such hard edges.

The monitor might be very high res like 4K, or it might be a resolution in between 1 and 2x, in which case it would still receive the 1x image. In any case, replacing the icons with SVG's T129634 would fix this

@Volker_E No, I guess it's just somewhere around 105ppi. I guess that's considered LDPI.

As per @Volker's suggestion. I've split this patch into multiple commits on the following topic thread

closing this out, as we're doing the SVG work in another ticket.
