We should probably just force-disconnect the older of the two connections - which is what Etherpad does. Google docs creates a clone user - but having multiple cursors per user is probably more trouble than it's worth.

We've switched to session storage for user id so this isn't an issue anymore. It may become an issue when we add some authentication.
