Using VE on en.wikipedia user page currently causes page to blank
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

Currently when I hit "edit" on a subpage of my userpage, [[User:Jamesmontalvo3/Sandbox]], VE loads then the content disappears. See GIF below:

Event Timeline

I refreshed this page several times and it continued to happen. But then I just went to it again the problem seems to have gone away.

I'm trying to test another issue and I've done a few edit-and-save cycles and the issue showed up again. I'm not sure at this point what may cause it. Whenever I see the issue on that page from now on I'll edit source on the page and leave an edit summary like "edit with VE issue T166340"

This seems to now be working for me – possibly a transient back-end server issue? Can you re-test?

@Jamesmontalvo3

If you still have problems with this, then you might want to try the steps at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Locating_broken_scripts to see whether it makes any difference.

Given that nobody else can reproduce this problem, it seems like it's not a problem with VisualEditor itself.
