Description

This task will track the racking and setup/installation of labweb100[12].wikimedia.org systems.

Racking plan: These use the public vlan, and are replacing californium and silver, both out of warranty. Since these only need the public1 vlan in each row, they can go in whatever 1GBE racks have space. Ideally these two labweb systems are NOT in the same rack or row.

labweb1001:

  • - receive in system on procurement task T163024
  • - rack system with proposed racking plan (see above) & update racktables (include all system info plus location)
  • - bios/drac/serial setup/testing
  • - mgmt dns entries added for both asset tag and hostname

  • - network port setup (description, enable, public vlan)
  • - operations/puppet update https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/365173/
  • - OS installation
  • - puppet/salt accept/initial run
