Description

For some items there can be seen weird diff change sizes. Two very obvious cases, adding a short Latin script-based label produces +6,116, and one description a bit longer: +3,793.

Event Timeline

It's expected. It was on old serialization and with the new change, it started to keep it in the new serialization method (which has been in use since 2014) and the change is for that time as well.

Hey :)

Yeah as @Ladsgroup said this is expected as we changed the format of the internally stored content in 2014. We can't change this.

ok, the examples from #0 are edits in 2014 and for them as you said it's expected to be as it is. But I saw such things on recent edits as well, on items which since 2014 were edited ~10-20 times, and is quite possible that these things are unrelated to the 2014 change. Or not?

I remember three changes:

  • change to some internals
  • change to internal structure to sitelinks (ie. +badges)
  • change to internal structure of timevalues

I think they happenned in 2014, 2015 and 2016, respectively.
