User unable to remain logged in
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

It was reported on the Wikipedia helpdesk (permalink) and on OTRS (Ticket# 2017062510010051) that user:Ad Hoef is unable to remain logged in.

He reported that logging in is possible, and he sees the preferences buttons etc on top. However, as soon as he navigates to another page within Wikipedia, this disappears, and he's logged out again. He was able to reproduce this over multiple days, on multiple browsers (internet explorer, chrome). Cookies is set to accept. He checked 'remain logged in' at login.

Event Timeline

@Aklapper I'll suggest the suggestions there (reset password, create new account) and will report back. Not sure if it is the same thing either, but worth a try.

I saw few other reports too, one here:
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Questions_techniques/semaine_28_2017, few days ago, first section, in French. User lost his connection when he refreshes or goes to another page. He tries with different browsers.

@Aklapper it is confirmed that resetting the password did the trick. I assume it is indeed a duplicate, although it is not confirmed the cause is the same. I'll mark it as such.
